I arrived on this earth in Detroit, Michigan on April 2nd, 1945. The war, that was about to end, had brought young men together from the four corners of the country. They shared their regional musical interests in blues and jazz, which was to become the beat and soul of rock and roll a decade later.
Started high school in 1960 and road the musical wave of rock and roll with the rest of the baby boomers. Began playing drums at 16 and in 1965 co-founded a rock and roll band, the Teques, with my brother Mike and two friends. Long hair, late hours, a beer or two and a musical income…..we had found the path!…..and broke up in 1967!
After seven jobs, two good marriages, three great kids, fourteen cars, a stint in the military, twenty homes, four states and forty years the Teques reunited in 2007. Alive and ambulatory the band played on in Detroit and Portland, Oregon.
With a re-invigorated musical interest and an e-mail from Mike Sudak I joined Total Recall in 2008 in Denver to expand my musical history and experiences….and more importantly to share it with you! Enjoy our walk through memory lane and the music that tells our story. It’s great to be a part of Total Recall!
Mike Custer
Mike played trumpet, french horn, and tuba in junior high and high school and moved to guitar while in college. He switched to the bass guitar in the mid-90's after getting a bass for his birthday. Mike has been playing and singing regularly for over 30 years. Mike has enjoyed a 30+ year career as an engineer, but his passion has always been music.
Michael Sudak
Mike Sudak’s first band effort was after high school when he played guitar in the Band of Gold wedding Band with high school pals. Performing at various open stages and coffee shops over the years has been a life long hobby. In 2000 Michael produced a CD of original compositions called Coal Creek Canyon. The title track jumped to number 1 by selling 12 copies in 2years followed by the smash hit Beer Drinking Man’s Blues. “ Total Recall allows me to live the dream and I love it!!
